Mahika is a sophomore at Shady Side Academy, Pittsburgh and the founder of Stories on a Plate. A lifelong home cook, she grew up in the kitchen learning not just recipes, but the traditions and stories that come with them. Inspired by the way food can bring people together across generations and cultures, she created Stories on a Plate as a space to share meaningful dishes, build community, and give back. A portion of proceeds from each gathering supports local food banks.

Outside the kitchen, Mahika is a member of SSA’s football cheerleading team and enjoys writing poetry, traveling, and exploring new cultures through food.
